The brief

Represent many kinds of art without choosing just one.

A flexible after-hours identity designed to guide visitors through galleries, shops and creative spaces across downtown Kingston.

Art After Dark spans galleries, performances, retail spaces and hands-on experiences. The identity needed to feel creative without leaning on one medium, remain visible in an evening setting and adapt to a dense family of printed visitor materials.

The identity idea

Windows, silhouettes and a little night light.

A four-pane structure references lit storefront windows after dark. Abstract shapes form the event acronym while still leaving room for interpretation, and a vivid cyan, pink and indigo palette gives the identity an evening glow.

In practice

A recognizable guide through the evening.

The system moves from campaign materials into storefront displays, maps and a visitor passport, helping a varied downtown event feel connected from the first promotion to the night itself.

The outcome

One recognizable language across the visitor journey.

The system was carried through posters, a save-the-date postcard, storefront displays, an event map and a passport visitors used throughout the evening. Clear guidelines keep the expressive forms consistent across changing seasonal applications.
