Build trust without creating another maintenance problem.
A clear, accessible digital home for a growing not-for-profit supporting animal rescues and community organizations.
The organization needed to explain its mission, recognize supported causes, share events and publish updates. The site also had to remain manageable for a small volunteer-led team after the initial design and development work ended.
Content with a clear job
Make the mission easy to understand and the site easy to update.
The content hierarchy leads with purpose, then gives visitors direct paths to supported causes, events and news. A responsive component system keeps the experience consistent, while an approachable content editor separates routine updates from the underlying code.
In practice
Designed for visitors and the people maintaining it.
News, supported causes and events follow the same accessible component system. Behind the scenes, a focused editor lets the client handle routine updates without digging through the site’s code.
The outcome
A useful website the client can keep current.
The finished site works across desktop, tablet and mobile, includes accessible navigation and page structure, and gives the client controlled editing access for events and news. The project was donated as part of OWL’s community-focused practice.
