Event campaign / 25th anniversary
Kingston Canadian Film Festival

The brief
Celebrate a milestone without losing the festival’s character.
A bold anniversary campaign designed to celebrate Canadian filmmaking, stand out against a winter backdrop and welcome new audiences.
KCFF wanted to reconnect with pre-pandemic attendance, reach younger people interested in workshops, panels and live music, and still feel familiar to established film lovers and returning festival audiences.
The campaign idea
Twenty-five becomes the frame.
A bold 25-shaped filmstrip organizes stills from Canadian films and becomes the campaign’s most recognizable device. Blue, orange and pink divide the imagery into vivid blocks while black and white typography keeps event information clear.

In practice
A milestone made visible across the city.
The anniversary device scales from the primary poster to postcards, large-format advertising and the printed festival guide, giving each touchpoint a clear connection to the same celebration.

The outcome
A client-selected direction with public-facing range.
The direction was developed through a collaborative St. Lawrence College design program and selected by the client for the festival’s public-facing identity work. The system flexed across the main poster, advertising, print collateral and event materials.
